Club love knows no division - Jan Van den Bergh returns to NAC
There's news from Breda this week. Jan Van den Bergh, our captain, is returning. He signs for three seasons and comes back from Japan, where he played for Júbilo Iwata since last year. Technical director Peter Maas was looking for reinforcements in the left side of the defense and found them, once again, with an old acquaintance.
Van den Bergh himself left no doubt as to why he is returning. "There's only one Avondje NAC and only one team I want to play for," he said. Words that perfectly capture what this article is about.
Back from the past, just like this sticker
Coincidentally, his return coincides with something we are also bringing back this week. The "Clubliefde Kent Geen Divisie" (Club Love Knows No Division) sticker, one of our very first designs, created more than ten years ago, now in a new style. On a deep black background, the text appears in a bold, yellow gothic font. To the left is the coat of arms of Breda with the three St. Andrew's crosses, to the right is the NAC shield logo.
Those two lines are not just a catchy slogan. They are the core of what NAC has been for generations. Eredivisie or Keuken Kampioen Divisie, the stadium is full. Even when hopelessly behind, the wave goes on. No fair-weather fans, pride is in the culture, not in a trophy cabinet. When this sticker was first made ten years ago, that was already true. Now that Van den Bergh is returning, regardless of which division NAC is playing in, it still holds true.
Stick it on your awayday luggage, on your laptop, or somewhere visible in your man cave. Anywhere you want to show that your support doesn't depend on the standings.
The flag out in full force again
With Van den Bergh back and the season approaching, this is also the moment to hoist the flag again. Our NAC Breda club flag, black with the distinctive yellow diagonal stripe, is made of durable polyester and will last for years. On the facade on match day, taken to the stadium, or as an eye-catcher at home.
Let all of Breda see that club love is ready for action again.
Sticker on the luggage, flag on the facade, captain back in yellow and black. The new season can begin. View the entire assortment or subscribe to the newsletter and don't miss a single drop.
