GTA Breda for GTA 6: the mega banner by the Breda Locos and Fr0nt76 at Vitesse
A GTA-style mega-banner with everything that represents Breda
The design was drawn in the style you know from the GTA posters, right down to the title. Except it doesn't say a game title, but the full club name: NOAD ADVENDO Combinatie, with Breda as a subtitle.
In the top left is the most famous Hollywood sign. The text has been replaced by one of the most popular recent NAC songs, Wij zijn van Breda (We are from Breda), and in front of it stands someone in a Breda jacket lighting two flares. In the top right, the Grote Kerk (Great Church) rises, the city's icon and the slender tower that every resident of Breda is proud of.
In the bottom left, three supporters leave their mark so no one is in any doubt about where they are: on NAC territory. Anyone familiar with our stickers understands how that works. In the bottom right, the 'Rats', as NAC supporters are also called, are in a van headed to the away day in Arnhem. Pyro is coming out of the window and the license plate says 076 NOAD.
Every line was hand-drawn. The Breda Locos and Fr0nt76 spent weeks on it, from sewing the banner to sketching out all the lines in the detailed design and spray-painting the banner itself. No factory, no printer. Do the math: 775 square meters, hand-painted. No cost or effort was spared.
The fourth away game this season with a fan display
GTA Breda did not just appear out of nowhere. It is already the fourth away game this season for which the Locos have organized a fan display in the away section.
Oss: the shield of Breda
At the season opener at TOP Oss on August 7, the coat of arms of Breda hung prominently in the section, with the lions of Breda in stained glass on either side. In front of it was a text banner: "Achter ons schild waar NAC trouw nooit verstilt" (Behind our shield where NAC loyalty never silences).
Waalwijk: the Ark of NOAD
On September 4, away at RKC Waalwijk, a large banner on stilts was raised. It depicted the Ark of NOAD, in honor of the boat trip to Waalwijk.
Doetinchem: the club flag made of ponchos
On September 20, the away section in Doetinchem was filled with ponchos. Together, the supporters used them to form the club flag, black with that yellow diagonal stripe.
And at home: twenty thousand sparklers
Not everything the Locos do is big and loud. On Friday, August 14, after the home match against VVV-Venlo, the lights in the Rat Verlegh Stadium were dimmed. Breda native Mats Seuntjens had recently lost his newborn daughter and was subbed on that evening. Sparklers were lit throughout the entire stadium, twenty thousand in total, as a sign of support for him and his family.
There were only two days between the news on Wednesday and the match on Friday, yet that sea of stars was there. That action, too, came from the Breda Locos.
The atmosphere fund is running low: help the Locos through the winter
These types of displays don't grow on trees. Banners, paint, and materials cost money, and that comes from the atmosphere fund of the Breda Locos and Fr0nt76. Because of all the actions in recent months, and what has already been purchased for upcoming displays, the bottom of that fund is in sight.
Meanwhile, things are going well in the stands, and we want to keep it that way. In the Rat Verlegh Stadium, and in every away section where we will be out in force over the coming months. Therefore, a clear appeal: help the Locos and Fr0nt76 get through the winter. Your contribution goes toward the fan displays in the stadium and in the away sections. Pass this blog on to your NAC friends as well, so that fund fills up faster.
What we are doing about it
We are NACsfeer, and the profits from all NAC products in our webshop go to the Breda Locos. Anyone who orders a sticker, a flag, or a warm neck warmer is directly keeping the next display in the air.
Winter is coming and the Friday nights in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie are getting cold. This black fleece neck warmer has three embroidered yellow St. Andrew's crosses and a drawstring.
In Doetinchem, we formed the club flag with ponchos. At home, you can just hang it outside on match day, or take it with you to the stadium. The flag is 100 by 150 cm, black with the yellow diagonal stripe.
And then the sticker for your car, your laptop, or the lamppost next to the away section. The round NAC sticker is made for the outdoors and shows who is in charge here.
