Looking Back at a Season Full of Highlights: From Ajax to Vlaggenzee!

The curtain has fallen on the Eredivisie season. For NAC, it was a year full of emotion, competition, and unforgettable moments. A season in which we returned to the highest level and showed that NAC belongs in the Eredivisie. Let's look back on some wonderful highlights that will stay with us forever!

A Flying Start: NAC - Ajax (2-1)

What a return to the Eredivisie! On August 18, 2024, NAC opened the season at home against Ajax. The atmosphere in the Rat Verlegh Stadium was electric, and the team delivered a magnificent performance. For a long time, the match looked like it would end in a draw. The absolute highlight was Jan van den Bergh 's winning goal, a masterful header in the closing stages that made it 2-1 and sent the stadium into a frenzy. A dream start that set the tone for our Eredivisie season!

Historic Victory and Sea of Flags: NAC - RKC Waalwijk (4-1)

Another unforgettable evening was the 4-1 home victory over RKC Waalwijk on October 29, 2024. This match was extra special because it coincided with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Breda. Before the match, the Breda Loco's displayed a breathtakingly large banner honoring this historic milestone. The banner, full of symbolism and gratitude, paid tribute to the Polish liberators and to the city of Breda. The combination of this beautiful gesture in the stands and the resounding 4-1 victory on the pitch made it an evening to remember forever. A perfect celebration of freedom and football.

Winter Magic: NAC - FC Twente (2-1)

Just after the winter break, on January 19, 2025 , another cracker was on the schedule: a home game against FC Twente. The Twente side, high up in the Eredivisie, were treated to a veritable NAC storm on a bleak early afternoon. Despite the cold and the physical play, NAC, thanks in part to the support from the stands, managed to pull off a strong 2-1 victory. The atmosphere afterward, with Rat Verlegh singing and the players celebrating with the fans, was one of the absolute highlights of the season. A victory that showcased the team's resilience and fulfilled the promise to the supporters: "Don't panic, we'll get there!"

Season Closing: Derby Day and Sea of Flags

The season concluded with the Brabant derby at home against O13. Around the Rat Verlegh Stadium, it was a true explosion of yellow and black passion! With a vibrant pre-party starting at 10:00 AM and a grand after-party starting at 4:30 PM, the team's survival in the Eredivisie was celebrated exuberantly. Unfortunately, the match itself wasn't the highlight we'd hoped for, ending in a 1-1 draw. But the atmosphere around the stadium, with thousands of yellow and black shirts, scarves, and flags, made the day unforgettable.

Now that the season is over, NAC is not standing still. Renovations at the Rat Verlegh Stadium are in full swing. We're incredibly curious to see what our home will look like when everything is finished, and we're looking forward to competing again next season in a renovated and improved stadium.

This was also a fantastic season for NACsfeer . As supporters, we accomplished many wonderful things, celebrated highlights, and shared the tough times. We also launched NACsfeer.nl. The launch of our webshop was a huge success, and we are incredibly grateful for all your support and enthusiasm. We are already busy designing new stickers, developing exciting new merchandise, and several other projects to provide you with the most unique NAC items again next season.
