We Showed England How It's Done!
Wow, what a statement we made in England last weekend! With a force of over 1,500 people, we annexed the quiet city of Norwich and transformed it into a bustling, yellow and black enclave of Breda. And what a party it was!
The fun started on Friday, when hundreds of supporters gathered in the pubs of Norwich. Flags and banners were hung, the beer flowed freely, and the atmosphere was friendly and unforgettable from the very first minute. The local police occasionally had to step in to make sure traffic could still get through all the Breda-style partying, but it was all done with a wink and a smile.
The party continued the next day. Early in the afternoon, we came together from all over the city in a street in the city center, where the mood was already electric. The authorities would have preferred us to walk to the stadium in small groups, but they quickly realized that was an impossible mission. Around half past one, an immense yellow procession departed for the stadium. It was a great and friendly march that seemed to have no end. Along the side, Norwich supporters watched our 'Yellow Army' with their mouths agape, impressed by the incredible atmosphere we brought with us.
Once in the stadium, the party continued under the stands. The beer couldn't be poured fast enough, and the singing was deafening. During the warm-up and the players' entrance, we made sure they felt right at home with a loud and vocal club song that echoed throughout the entire stadium. Our support was unmistakable for the full 90 minutes.
Since drinking beer in the stands isn't allowed in England, many supporters found the match to be an "annoying interruption" to the drinking. But, as true NAC supporters, we found a creative solution: we all switched to drinking 'tea,' which was permitted! We won't dwell too long on the match itself, although it was fantastic to see our boys fighting abroad.
After the match, our yellow army returned to the city center to continue supporting the local beer economy. The taps couldn't keep up with our pace, and many a musician had trouble being heard over our singing. But of course, that didn't spoil the fun! The good times continued into the late hours, after which Norwich slowly returned to its original state.
On Sunday, it was time to say goodbye, or to enjoy the beautiful city a little longer. Many supporters were surprised by the beautiful, historic places Norwich has to offer, such as the castle from 1067 and the oldest pub from 1249. The pubs that had been taken over on Friday and Saturday were also visited one last time on Sunday by the last remaining supporters.
To this day, people in Norwich are still talking about our wonderful and friendly invasion. We excellently represented NAC and left a fantastic impression. A big shout-out to all the organizing parties for this unforgettable experience!

De gezelligheid, mensen leren kennen en iemand terug zien die ik al 20j niet meer gezien had.
