Beers along the sideline: the preparation is about to begin

The season is over, peace has temporarily returned, and holidays are booked. But let's be honest, after a few weeks, everyone starts to get antsy again. It's part of being a supporter. We just want to be back in the stands, see familiar faces, and chat nonsense with a lukewarm beer in hand. The preparations for the 2026/2027 season are largely set. This means we can get back in the car or bus for the first kilometers of the year.

Back in the region

On Monday, June 29, the squad will report to Zundert for the first training session. A few days later, the first plans can already be made.

Wednesday, July 1 (7:00 PM): Etten-Leur United – NAC

These are the evenings that make summer. No complicated plans, just an amateur field in the region where the tap is close by. See which guys have returned fit and who the new faces in yellow and black are.

Saturday, July 4 (2:30 PM): Zundertse Selectie – NAC
📍 Hoofdveld VVR, Rijsbergen

A match that perfectly fits how we want to see our club. Close to the people. We play against a team full of guys from the municipality of Zundert. A nice Saturday afternoon where we'll once again cycle or drive into the polder the old-fashioned way.

Wednesday, July 8 (7:00 PM): FC Eindhoven – NAC
📍 Sportpark Rood-Wit, Sint Willebrord

In Sint Willebrord, we'll pick up the thread again against a professional club. Nobody cares about the result yet; it's about the feeling that the real work is coming. Catching up with acquaintances behind the goal and warming up our voices.

Training camp in Zeeland and the final match against Excelsior

From July 13 to 18, the squad will head to the Zeeland coast. For the players, this means hard work with double training sessions, but for us, it's an ideal excuse for a week away. Yellow and black shirts on the Zeeland terraces and a peek at the training sessions. We'll conclude the week in Zeeland on Saturday, July 18, in Sint Willebrord against Excelsior. The time for this is yet to follow, but it's certain that this will be a good test.

Visiting our friends from Lokeren

Saturday, July 25 (4:00 PM): KSC Lokeren – NAC
📍 Daknamstadion, Lokeren

For many, this is the absolute top match of the summer. Not because of the level on the field, but because of the long-standing friendship between us and Lokeren. This doesn't feel like a friendly match; it feels like coming home to friends. The away section will undoubtedly be filled with Breda camaraderie.

Greek test and the English tradition

After the trip to Belgium, we will play against OFI Crete on Tuesday, July 28, at 7:00 PM, at Victoria'03's field in Oudenbosch. A completely different playing style and a good test to see who is vying for a starting spot.

We will conclude the preparations in style on Saturday, August 1, at 3:00 PM (English time) against Bolton Wanderers at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. English football history, a beautiful stadium, and the ultimate test before the league kicks off.
